The Paradox!!!

I knew I was meant to fly,
in the silken oranges of dawn....
but solid lumps of air... Alas!!

I knew I could dive in deeps,
and run as a free flowing current.
but subzero frozen lakes..... Alas!!

I knew I could walk the jungles,
as the mighty lion himself.
but new found civilization....Alas!!

I knew I could die in peace,
and rest in the somber quiets.
but the joys of life.... Alas!!
